Network Setup Instructions

  1. Install the TyTron C-3000 software on each computer that you want to network.
  2. Select the computer that will be the server. On this computer share Drive C with full access.
    To do this open: My Computer and right-click on Drive C. Select Sharing... and click on Shared As, set the Share Name to C and then under Access Type click on Full. In Windows XP Select “Allow Network Users to Change My Files”  
  3. On each computer on the network open > My Computer > Drive C > Program Files > Common Files > Borland Shared > BDE
    Run BDEADMIN.EXE.
  4. Configuration then double click on

    + Configuration

    + System

    + INIT

    On the right side of the screen set Local Share to TRUE.
  5. Double click on
    • Drivers
    • Native
    • PARADOX

    And set the NET DIR to \\ServerName\C\C3000\ (Server Name is the name of the computer you selected as the server).

  6. Click on the tab marked Databases and then click on VT95 and set the Path to \\ServerName\C\C3000\DB. Then click on STANDARD, exit the program and respond yes to all dialogs.
  7. Go into the TyTron C-3000 Program and click on setup (found in the bottom left hand corner). On the setup screen change the location of the database to reflect the location you specified to be the server.

Now please test to ensure that your network configuration is successful.
